I carved the face on Patrick's and then let him go to town with the pumpkin saw. ( maybe not the safest thing to do, but those pumpkin saws are designed for kids, besides he was supervised.) He loved it! He also loved that his pumpkin had eyes and a nose and a mouth. He kept pointing them out to us.
After we were done with Patrick's pumpkin he helped mommy clean her's out. Eeeewww!
then he tried to feed his pumpkin the extra pieces! Hey why not he has a mouth right??

The final product. Just ignore the lovely mess that is my hair in this picture.
We thought it was so funny that you could see Patrick's cut marks on the side of his pumpkin!
